Fun at the zoo with my cousins

Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma decided to take me, Alex, and Rachel to the zoo - hooray!!

First we decided to see how tall we were next to the black bear.... mommy is a little worried about how high up that 6 ft mark is! but says I'll always be her little boy, no matter how "big" I am!

Alex and grandma examining a turtle shell.

Rachel - posing up high on a statue .........................and here is Alex posing too!

Not to be left out, here's my pose!
This is what we call.... NOT posing! way more fun. We are in a life size replica
of a bald eagles nest - huge!

Since this is about the zoo... here are some animals.
Flamingoes

Macaws

A river otter - think he could teach me to swim like that?

A ride on the carousel... this is my "I'm not too sure about this" look

This is my "Hey mom.... this is fun!" look

Here's a scary thought "me and Alex driving"
Me and Alex in a cool fountain at the zoo.

Just me... having fun! how come we can't come here every day!

The Beach

Andrew and I decided that today seemed like a good day for the beach, with long hot summer days ahead we wanted to take advantage of the last bit of reasonable weather - so off we went!

We learned a few things.

1. It is not easy to take a particularly flattering photo of yourself while holding the camera, and trying to get your three year old to smile at it.

2. The beach makes a beautiful backdrop for some great poses.

3. Fresh air makes a little boy (and his mommy) very happy

Happy Mother's Day!

It is so hard to believe that three years have gone by since driving home from Tampa with our sweet baby boy! I sat so many years in church on Mother's Day crying and praying that another Mother's Day would not go by without having a child. So imagine the overwhelming joy of bringing home our Andrew Jeremiah on Mother's Day of all days - how amazing to be loved so much by a God who throws in little details like that to answered prayers! The incredible experience of Andrew being placed in our arms by his birthmother that day is one we will never ever forget nor cease to be incredibly thankful for.

What a difference three years makes!

Birthday - Part I

We had a family dinner for Andrew on his birthday and he got to open up some presents. Here is a sampling of what he got.

It's a Blue's Clues Notebook! hooray :) This notebook has since then accompanied us everywhere we go, you never know when you may come across a clue that needs to be drawn in your notebook! Thanks Aunt Jenn, Alex, and Rachel :)
.

A Cars book - a must have in every little boys book collection

A pirate ship playhouse - um, excuse me daddy, is this my toy or yours?

A playdoh kitchen set.... two of my favorite things - playdoh and food. What's not to love? Well except maybe the fact that playdoh food doesn't taste so good.

Tow Mater! A Cars movie character - my favorite :)

I didn't waste any time putting him to the test.

And last but definitely not least - a new bike!! Thanks grandma and pop pop :) Now if mommy could just find my helmet, I could take it for a proper ride!
